Immediately prior to joining the staff at the Economic Forecast Project, Dr. Watkins was an economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington D.C. where he worked and performed research in the Banking Analysis Section of the Monetary Affairs Division. Dr. Watkins had approximately 19 years of lending experience, mostly in Southern California banks, when he returned to graduate school in the early 1990's. He earned his Ph.D. in economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Robert T. Parry is a director of both Countrywide Financial Corporation(CFC) and Countrywide Bank. He also is a director of PACCAR Inc., a global technology leader in the design, manufacture, and customer support of high-quality light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. In March, 2005, Dr. Parry was elected to the board of directors of Janus Capital Group Inc., a leading asset manager offering individual investors and institutional clients complementary asset management disciplines through the firm’s global distribution network. Parry served as president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco for 18 years and retired from that position June, 2004. He was a member of the Federal Open Market Committee, bringing his District's perspective to monetary policy discussions. |
